BITHYNIA. Nicomedia. Valerian I, with Gallienus and Valerian II Caesar, 253-260. Tetrassarion (Bronze, 26 mm, 9.59 g, 12 h), 256-258. AYT OYAΛEPI[ANOC] ΓAΛΛHNOC (sic!) OYAΛEPIANOC CE / BBB Radiate, draped and cuirassed busts of Valerian I and Gallienus facing one another; below and between them, bareheaded, draped and cuirassed bust of Valerian II to right. Rev. NIKOMHΔEΩN - TPIC NEKOP/ΩN (sic!) Three temples; two seen in perspective facing left and right; the one above seen from front with Demeter standing facing within, holding grain ears and torch; in the middle, erected serpent and altar. BMC 69 var. RG 407. RPC X online ID 74703 var. (obverse legend). SNG von Aulock 860 var. Slightly porous and with minor traces of corrosion, otherwise, very fine.
